Electrical Contractor Sales
The Company
Powerworks is the UK virtual subsidiary of a Spanish manufacturer of Power protection equipment, in particular UPS (uninterruptible power supplies). Selling directly to IT Managers from companies ranging from blue chip multinationals through to local Government wishing to protect their entire computer rooms from the effects of mains power failure.
The company also installs high integrity modular computer rooms, which are sold as a turnkey installation package, including air-conditioning, gas fire suppression and security.
Operating in a £200M UK market, the company is a niche player offering superior service and support to that offered by our competitors.
Candidate Profile
Enthusiastic and tenacious, the jobholder will take the business of sales extremely seriously. A resilient self-starter, with drive and ambition, the right person will be adaptable and able to quickly understand technical concepts and clients individual needs, this person will have been working for a number of years in a telesales role, preferably in an industrial environment rather than a call centre, will have experience in identifying sales opportunities, closing orders, setting up appointments for external sales staff and working as part of a team. Ideal candidates might have a background in data-cabling, generators, air-conditioning or similar. Candidates who have attended a formal telesales or sales course will have an advantage. They must also be fully computer literate, be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
The Role
Working from a database and to their own initiative the jobholder will target electrical contractors who have a requirement for the company’s products and services. This will entail extensive use of the telephone. Having identified an opportunity they will then either book an appointment for an external sales person to visit, or gain an opportunity to quote.
The internal sales executive will work closely as a ‘buddy’ with an external sales person to achieve targets. This will entail preparing quotations, following up quotes and negotiating with customers to close orders.
The Reward
Basic salary will be negotiable, with the opportunity to earn commission with an OTE around £22k. Commission is open ended. The company has a stakeholder pension scheme, and will match contributions up to 3% of salary after one year.
